Today’s Photo Of The Day is “New Headdress” by Gene Putney. Location: Estes Park, Colorado.

“On an October morning during the elk rut I came across this Rocky Mountain bull elk that found a new headdress he was trying out,” says Putney. “It’s pretty obvious by his expression he wasn’t satisfied with it. I witnessed him for several minutes trying to remove it on nearby trees but just couldn’t remove it off his antlers and eventually went back to guarding his harem.”
