Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Winter’s Touch” by Joshua Moore. Location: Carvers Gap, Roan Mountain, Tennessee.
“It was the first snowfall of 2020 here in eastern Tennessee, and Roan Mountain was getting hammered overnight along with temperatures dropping to 10 degrees at night,” says Moore. “My buddy Scott and I arrived around 5 a.m., and we had planned on shooting a sunrise from the Appalachian Trail on Jane Bald, but due to extreme high winds and extremely low temperatures, we opted to play it safe and wander around Carvers Gap. As the sun started to rise, I started to look around and this one tree caught my eye. I really liked how the light took to the tree and how the golden glow was centralized on it. Typically, I never center an image unless it just calls for it, and in this instance, it was for sure calling for it.”
